
This 3-day journey takes you from Bishkek to Karakol through the heart of Kyrgyzstan’s nomadic culture and stunning landscapes. Experience ancient Silk Road history, traditional village life, eagle hunting, and some of the most beautiful gorges around Issyk-Kul Lake. From dramatic canyons and red rock formations to hot springs by the lake, this tour offers a perfect mix of adventure, culture, and relaxation.
Day 1: Bishkek – Burana – Don Aryk – Ton (Kyrgyzstan)
Breakfast. Depart Bishkek at 09:00.
Our first fascinating stop will be the ancient Burana Tower, a remarkable historical monument from the 11th–13th centuries, once part of the city of Balasagun — a key Silk Road center.
Next, enjoy an unforgettable experience watching an authentic Kyrgyz national horse game, “Ulak Tartysh” (goat pulling) (extra cost). Known worldwide as Kok Boru, this spectacular competition features skilled horsemen fighting for a goat carcass — a thrilling demonstration of nomadic bravery and traditions.
Transfer to the cozy Don Aryk village and enjoy a home-made traditional lunch with a friendly local Kyrgyz family.
After lunch, watch an engaging yurt construction demonstration and even join in if you wish. Local Kyrgyz women will warmly explain the cultural meaning and the use of each beautifully crafted part of the yurt.
Then we will continue towards the breathtaking Issyk-Kul Lake. On the way, enjoy the dramatic landscapes of the Boom Gorge with the Chui River flowing powerfully between towering mountains.
Day 2: Ton – Karakol
After breakfast, prepare for one of the most exciting shows of the trip — an impressive eagle hunting demonstration. See how a majestic golden eagle hunts with absolute precision, continuing an ancient nomadic tradition.
Then we head to the vibrant and colorful Fairytale Canyon, known for its stunningly shaped rocks that look like dragons, castles, and magical creatures.
Next, enjoy the scenic beauty of Barskoon Gorge with its refreshing waterfalls surrounded by tall pine forests and snowy mountains.
We continue our journey into the mountains where you will admire the legendary red rocks:
– The Broken Heart cliff
– The Seven Bulls (Jeti-Oguz) formations
A short drive brings us to the peaceful and expansive Kok-Jayik Gorge, also called the Valley of Flowers.
Day 3: Karakol – Bishkek
After breakfast, we begin the day with a visit to the Przewalski Museum — a charming memorial complex dedicated to the great explorer of Central Asia. (Or Karakol Gorge, depending on your preference.)
Then we will have a city tour by visiting the Dungan mosque, it’s one of the most ancient mosque in Kyrgyzstan was built without any nail. The go to Orthodox Church of the 19th century.
Then we travel back to Bishkek along the stunning northern shore of Issyk-Kul Lake.
We will visit the picturesque Semenovka and Grigor’evka gorges, famous for their lush nature, mountain rivers, and amazing views.
Relax in warm natural hot springs right in front of the lake — a perfect moment to refresh your body and soul.
On our way, we once again pass through the impressive Boom Gorge with the fast-flowing Chu River.
In Tokmok city, we will stop at the fun and friendly Hawaii recreational center, where you can taste delicious local food and see various animals — a nice cultural and relaxing break.
