Illyas ist ein außergewöhnlich guter Guide. Wir haben eine fünftägige Tour rund um den Issyk-Kul und durch verschiedene Regionen Kirgisistans gemacht – alles war hervorragend organisiert und jede Station auf ihre Weise beeindruckend. Was besonders heraussticht, ist seine Aufmerksamkeit: Illyas merkt oft schon im Voraus, was man braucht, und sorgt dafür, dass man sich durchgehend gut aufgehoben fühlt. Zudem fährt er sehr sicher, was die Reise zusätzlich angenehm macht. Durch seine frühere Tätigkeit als Lehrer bringt Illyas ein umfassendes Wissen über die Politik und Geschichte Kirgisistans mit und teilt viele interessante Hintergründe und Zusammenhänge während der Tour. Darüber hinaus ist er ein sehr herzlicher Mensch, was die Erfahrung auch auf persönlicher Ebene besonders macht. Die Unterkünfte waren ebenfalls durchweg hochwertig und mit viel Sorgfalt ausgewählt. I booked a 3d2n tour with Ilyas. Right from the get-go, he was incredibly friendly and speaks decent English. What I like is that Ilyas is earnest, and has the tourist’s best interest at heart. His tours are not ‘scammy’ and he has the best locations/residences that immerse tourists into the Kyrgyz experience. As I was doing a lot of photography/videography, Ilyas was patient and willing to take multiple pit stops for me. He’s also pleasant and never shows a sour face. All-in-all, I would definitely come back to Kyrgyzstan with him as a tour guide.

Private road trip from Bishkek to Karakol
Before my catskiing week in East Kyrgyzstan I had three days available to explore the country on the way to Jyrgalan so I hired Ilyas as my tour guide/driver. He picked me up from the airport before dawn and we immediately set off for a full day of exploring. We started with the stunning landscapes of Ala-Archa National Park, then relaxed at the hot springs in Issyk-Ata Gorge before continuing to Issyk-Kul Lake, where we spent the night at a cute lakeside resort. The next day we visited the incredible Skazka (Fairy Tale) Canyon, the Barskoon area with its waterfalls and Yuri Gagarin monument, the striking red rock formations of Seven Bulls, and the peaceful Kok-Jayik Valley. We finished the journey in the best possible way—spending the night in a traditional yurt camp and he gave me some tips to enjoy Karakol ski resort on the next day. Throughout the trip Ilyas was very friendly and knowledgeable about the region. The driving was safe, the itinerary was perfectly organized, and he made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. I highly recommend him to anyone wanting to explore Kyrgyzstan.
